THE BAPTIST CONFESSION OF 1689
I don't know how many of you have heard of the "Baptist Confession"?... it was an in depth statment of what the Baptist Churches believed... the Bible truths that they wanted to stand for, in London in 1677 (not published until 1689). Anyway, I have been using it as "devotions" material for the last several weeks and I have really gotten a lot out of it. I read a portion of it every couple of days and I look up all the scripture references it gives. It has really been a blessing.

I have been using this with my children along with the "Baptist Catechism". A catechism is a series of questions and answers used to teach scriptural truths. Every day or two we read one question and I have them look up the scriptures and then answer the question.

I know many in Youth Group often struggle with doing devotions regularly. This may not be your "cup of tea" but if you have been having trouble in this area go ahead and give these a try... it has proven to be a good way to get into the scriptures for us. Have fun!
